When I met David Foster
March 9th, 2010 by admin
When I learned that David Foster, the mega producer, was coming to Toronto, I couldn’t miss this chance to finally meet him. I saw him at Ontario Place in Toronto perform with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in 1988. He had his mullet back then. Then I had another chance but missed it, which was at the unveiling of the Lee-Chin Crystal at the Royal Ontario Museum. Chyrell got a chance to watch him perform – he was only a couple of feet away from her.
But to meet David Foster in person – i finally had a lifelong dream come true. I’ve been wanting to meet him since 1986!
Canada Golden at Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics!
February 25th, 2010 by admin
Tonight, all of Canada got a chance to witness history in the making for the 8th time when Canada’s Womens Hockey team won the gold medal. It was a hard fought game against a very strong opponent, our cousins the Americans. I was really proud to finally witness the win here on Canadian soil. At the same time, I also have to give props to the American Women’s hockey team – they played with heart as well. It’s not always easy to on the other end of the finale. But they were a strong opponent. Imagine that, they limited our women’s team to just two goals!
Planned CD release concert with Onofrio Virdo
February 23rd, 2010 by admin
Classical and Jazz Guitarist Onofrio Virdo and I have been very busy collaborating on a new inspirational CD album together. So much so that we’ve got already 8 original songs recorded. We’re aiming for at least 15 songs. We should have it all wrapped up and in the manufacturing stage around late May, early June.
If you feel like you’re being used, you probably are.

When I took on a music director’s role back in 2006, it was a pretty good opportunity to experience being the go-to guy behind the music. I got a chance to work with some of the Toronto filipino community’s A-list singers, and also some that I felt needed to work on their performance and artistry. For a time, it was good. But then i got a pretty hard taste of it when the latter of the group of singers seemed to think that my playing wasn’t that good. To avoid any sort of conflict, I would just give in instead of putting up an argument. After all, without trying to brag here, I do have the ears to make a quality musical performance.
Cast of Angels – amazing band par excellence
December 15th, 2009 by admin
If you get a chance, check out a band called the “Cast of Angels”. They are a rock band that has a huge sound with soul. I swear, these guys sound amazing and I can feel their music. I got to hear them at Yonge and Dundas Square for the first time and they blew the roof off the venue. I got to see them again last Sunday afternoon at a Filipino Unity Concert and man, did they get the whole place rockin’.
A motivational video to make you think
August 28th, 2009 by admin
This video sure did remind me of my why’s in life.
Even if times get tough, even if life is tough on you, if you wake up the next morning, then life and times aren’t tough enough to hold you down.
Know your dream within your heart, no matter what it is, even if others or your own thinking says you can’t do it, change your thinking now and do what your heart is telling you.
Onofrio!

Today, I’m here at my friend Onofrio’s place, discussing the details of an upcoming secret project =)
Onofrio is a well known guitarist in the Toronto area. His style is breathtaking and very spiritual. I’m very excited about working with him.
More to come, stay tuned!
New Music Video: Albion Pond
August 24th, 2009 by admin
I finally got it uploaded to Youtube. I was able to get all the footage recorded while at an Amusement Park called “The Big Apple” in Colborne, Ontario. I decided to take video shots over there since it had a beautiful pond. Plus the surroundings were big enough to move around in.
So you’ve had a stressful day at work, or you’ve been through some rough times with friends (or people who have decided to walk out of your life) and you feel like you need to get away from it all. What better way to relax than to go straight into nature’s realm and let your spirit soar.
Is Social Networking freezing your own projects?
August 23rd, 2009 by admin
I love online Social Networking, I think it’s great. In the past four years, I’ve reconnected with old friends through Facebook, sent traffic to my websites from Twitter, made new friends and collaborated with clientelle.
There’s also another face to this Social Networking phenomenon. It’s what it is – Social. The plain truth is that you will come face to face with all types of characters, a mix of positive and negative. Frankly, it’s a good idea to proceed with caution and know that you’re going to have to focus on finding the flowers among the weeds.
Healing after the death of a loved one
August 19th, 2009 by admin
Many years ago (over a decade) I heard the news that my cousin Rommel (formerly Ronquillo, now a Mirasol) had died from being hit by a car. I was only 14 years old. When I saw his body in a casket at his funeral wake, I was completely burdened with emotion and tears. Rommel and I used to be like buddies, because we were both the eldest in our families.
The thought of him being buried, while I was still in high school, bothered me for many weeks. There are stories of people, many people, who live in denial for a long time over the death of a loved one. Once exam time came around, there was no time to even think about someone’s death.
